About Candi

Candi Boyd is an award winning actor of stage and screen who has found her joy teaching dance to children and the elderly! She spent 10 years as the Universal Swing for Jersey Boys on Broadway and Internationally, performing in Istanbul, Mexico City, Las Vegas and all over the US. You may also recognize her from the TV shows Law & Order, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Quantico, Awkwafina is Nora from Queens and Pose, as well as many films. She can be seen in over 40 commercials, on the Tony Awards, The Thanksgiving’s Day Parade and the Super Bowl, and is the voice of the Singapore Zoo! She is also a director and choreographer, and has worked on over 10 productions in NYC and around the country! Candi has found that since the pandemic, teaching is an extremely fulfilling and powerful way to give back. She began teaching dance and musical theater to kids almost 25 years ago, and over the last 5 years has zeroed in on teaching health, wellness and dance to the elderly. She adores their energy and their friendships. She knows their family members and will stay long after class to laugh and chat. She treasures the wisdom and life lessons they provide, learning as much from them as they do from her. Candi caters her lessons to the room and knows how to push and encourage every level. She especially loves teaching the residents in the Memory Care programs and watching them come to life - remembering a song or step from the good old days! This is why she started Golden Groove; To bring light and joy to every elderly person she can, and get that joy returned to her! Golden Groove feels like a gift!
