About Catherine

Catherine Brunell Teaching

Catherine has been teaching, coaching and leading master classes since she began her career on Broadway over 25 years ago. Her passion for teaching stems from her love of storytelling and her love of true, honest connection with her students. She lives for the "lightbulb moment", when the information given to a student clicks and they are able to perform with confidence and joy, shining their light more freely. Catherine has taught master classes on the college level including at her alma mater, Northwestern University and for dozens of high schools across the country, in addition to coaching privately from her home in West Orange, NJ. As an actress, Catherine has been seen in principal roles in Broadway's Mean Girls, Les Miserables, Something Rotten, Mary Poppins, Big River, Elf and was in the original Broadway casts of A Tale Of Two Cities and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Most recently, she starred as Miranda Hillard on the Broadway national tour of Mrs. Doubtfire. In addition to her acting career, Catherine maintains a career as a concert artist & as weekly church soloist. Catherine's greatest pride and joy is her family - her husband Chris, and their children, Beatrice, Charlie, & Gus.
